I believe what you posted was actually very reasonable. However, what about this? what if you added a little content? I mean, I don't wish to tell you how to run your website, however suppose you added a post title that grabbed a person's attention? I mean %BLOG_TITLE% is kinda vanilla. You might look at Yahoo's front page and see how they write article titles to grab viewers to click. You might add a related video or a pic or two to get people excited about what you've written. Just my opinion, it would bring your posts a little livelier.
